Not what you would expect a winter coat to be in terms of thickness. This is very lightweight. It would actually be better for a fall or spring jacket. And we have mild winters and this certainly will not do for that season. It is a bit small. My son normally wears about a large or a size 14/16 and this fits just right even though it's an x-large. He definitely will not be able to wear it next year which is why I bought it. :( Oh well, we will use it as much as we can (maybe 3 month) and then donate it.Loved the coat but it seems to run a bit small. Ordered the 10-12 size for my tall 10 year old and it fit just barely. Returning for another style, in a larger size. Otherwise a very nice looking coat, although my kid didn't love that the arms were not fully lined/padded. Just a personal thing.This would DEFINITELY not be a true, warm winter coat, but we were looking for a fall/transitional coat and this would fit that to a tee.I bought a size 20 for my son. It fits, but it's a little tighter than I expected. It's definitely not a winter coat as described. It's thin and the lining is not a warm or soft material. It's great for a boy who seems to get warm easy, like my son. I'd buy it again, just not as a winter coat.While this is very cute, it just barely fits.I ordered the small, and it is very small!I ordered this with the little boys coat, same coat, just different sizing.I also ordered the little boys in a small.They are the EXACT same size, just the big boys sleeves are longer.So one kids is too small, and ones is too big :(Material and rest of the coat(s) seem fine though.This is described as a winter coat. I don't think it will be warm enough for a Wisconsin winter. Will be sufficient as a spring and fall jacket. My son does like it and it fits well, but I feel mislead because it says winter jacket and it is hard to tell from photo how thin it really is.It's a cute jacket, good quality - does not have a lining - so it is not for very cold temperatures. Basically a good spring/fall light jacket - or in our case great for FL winter. Shipping was fast and my boys love wearing it - they tell me its comfy. I have a 5 yr old and 7 yr old and I bought a size 8. The sleeves are a little long on the 5yr old - otherwise works great!It came on time. Never bought clothes online before because I need to see and feel the fabric before I buy. I am very detailed oriented and i checked every single seam, stitches, armpits, to make sure it was good before I handed it out to my son, and he super love his new jacket! It was exactly how it was on the picture. Will buy it again next year once his was small on him. Will definitely reorder from this seller again! 5 stars!Fits as expected. I bought this as a fall jacket for my 7 year old son. He is long and lanky, 51" tall. The arms come just above his fingernails. The length of the jacket covers his bottom. This will be perfect until the snow starts to fly. The color is nice and vibrant and the fabric is very flexible for an active child. I think we will get 2 years out of this jacket!! Thank you....
