George Jones' gospel recordings have been available on cd for a long time. Of the many many albums he recorded over the years, several of them were albums of gospel and sacred songs, and most, if not all, have been released in various cd collections. On the other hand, this is the only gospel album that Melba Montgomery ever recorded that I am aware of. I wrote a review for the LP back in 2013 (see my review for Hallelujah Road by Melba Montgomery). It is a fantastic collection of original country gospel songs. It has been one of my favorite albums since it's release in 1966. I'm glad they finally reissued it on cd. My only complaint is that for some reason they left out one of the best songs on the album, Crossing Over Jordan, which I believe was co-written by Melba and her brother Earl "Peanut" Montgomery. who also wrote songs for George Jones. I also wish they had released Melba's cd by it's self, and not as part of a set, since George's songs have been previously released on other cd collections. However. I still highly recommend the set for those who love good ole' country gospel music.
